Hair loss is like a toxic partner. It can seriously affect your self-esteem and it influences many aspects of your daily life.

The good news is there are good treatments nowadays that can help you improve your condition — and in some cases even reverse it.

If you are experiencing hair loss and want to know what you should do, the first step is to see a trusted dermatologist specialized in trichology and get a diagnosis.

Once you get a diagnosis and know what your hair loss root cause is, you will be able to address the problem with the right treatment.

The most common types of hair loss are Telogen Effluvium and Androgenetic Alopecia.

Telogen Effluvium

Telogen Effluvium is a nonscarring, diffuse, hair loss from the scalp. It occurs when there is some traumatic event or stress, and a large number of the scalp hairs are then shed two to four months after the “shock.” It usually lasts around six months.

If you are losing your hair because you have Telogen Effluvium, you need to find what triggered your hair shedding in the first place — with the help of your doctor.
